We have 5 in our garden. 2 sleep in a London Plane tree and 3 in a Cherry Blossom tree. When they all voice their opinions at the same time, it starts my huskies howling.......... the noise is rather loud....... especially around 4am. So if you see me lurking and homeless....... the neighbours have objected to their wild alarm clocks!

I saw this Trumpeter Hornbill close to the Gardenia Bird Hide in the South of the Kruger National Park.

Great photo, Phokojwe!!

I've seen lots of them at St Lucia, Zululand, where they are very common.

KNP sightings: Saw a solitary one on the S25, next to the Crocodile River, a few years ago. Heard and then saw them at Crooks' Corner in October this year.
Malelane 12th October 2016
Skukuza 16th October 2016
Lower Sabie 17th October 2016
Skukuza 2nd-5th March 2017
Satara 5th-8th March 2017
Tamboti 8th-11th March 2017

Last week i stopped on the H4-1 to watch some elephants on the far bank of the Sabie.

There was a pair of Trumpeters calling in a tree next to my car.
Searched for them as best as i could from within the confines of my car, but i never saw them :(
