Wild card for 10 month old

Unread postby sarah_judge » Mon Dec 06, 2010 12:34 pm

Do I need to purchase a family wild card for me, my husband and my 10 month old? Am unsure if she counts as a child as she is under 2 and not sure whether she has to pay the daily conservation fee/wild card.

Many thanks for the query. Children under two year of age are not required to pay conservation fees and would therefore not be required to be on a Wild Card, family or otherwise. If you already have a family Wild Card, you may as well as add her. However, at this stage if there are no other children of two years and older, a family Wild Card would not be necessary.

Kind regards.

Children under the Age of 2

Unread postby DotDan » Mon Dec 10, 2012 11:25 am

I just want to find out, as there is no information on either Wild Card or Sanparks site regarding conservation fees for children under the age of 2.

I remember 4 years ago my son, then 1, didn't pay conservation fees. Is this still applicable or has it changed?

It only states, children are viewed as younger than 12 years.

Conservation fees are not applicable for children under 2. See a response from Joep after a similar question was asked here:

Thanks Saraf.

That response was from 2 years ago hence the reason why I am asking if it is still applicable.

Child rates apply to persons aged 2-11 years, infants under 2 years Gratis

Taken from here

This is the latest Tariffs pdf for 2014-2015, valid until 31st October 2015. The Wild Card covers conservation fees due and this states there are no conservation fees due for infants under 2 years old.
