Hi AstroMatt ... here are some of the first sighting on Monday 27th - light not good and she was on the move a lot more than the 2nd Monday so not such great photos ... when we first saw her she was crossing the road and then climbed this tree and spent quite a while mooching around in it ..

Image

then she jumped down and crossed the road again - most of my photos have bits of the car in them ( side mirrors and stuff cause she was that close  )

Image

Image

but once on the other side she was a bit more chilled ...

Hope they help

Hi Astromatt,

just got back from the KTP yesterday - had a fantastic leopard sighting at Auchterlonie. As soon as I remember how to post photos, I'll upload some photos. Will also send you the Excel spreadsheet.

Great news on the sightings Myles and Lion Queen. I wonder who the two south of Urikaruus could be?? :hmz:
I can't wait to see the pics, and thanks for filling in the spreadsheet, it really does make the record keeping easier.

WOW!!! What an amazing sighting of a flying leopard   That is surely a once in a life time sighting!
You saw the Auchterlonie Female, the mum of the now famous Cagn (many sightings at Leeuwdril).

@ Lion Queen, your sighitng is a lot more difficult, i think i might need some time to properly compare some pics. But it certainly looks like one of them is cubbish. It's a shame when they don't come out to play like the Auchterlonie Female, but at the same time it keeps the mystery

I do know AstroMatt......... :wall: :wall: ...........and then there is that awful thing called gate times!!!!

I emailed you the originals, hopefully you can do something with them?? I wondered if it might be Barolong with a cub?? I can't remember that I've read anywhere of new cubs!!!

@myles -   Fantastic sighting and pix of the Auchterlonie female - quite bold she was! I suppose you would expect no less being Cagn's mom. Thanx for posting!

@lion queen - a weekend in KTP and you get 3 leopards! I have also tried to compare your pix of the mysterious twosome - I am afraid I have very few good pix of leopards' throats etc. I hope AstroMatt can shed some light on their IDs once he compares your originals to his pix. Thanx LQ!

A WOW sighting Timbits!  There have been reports of a leopard taking AWC, but no pic evidence. You were also lucky to see Cagn again on the 6th of September. Was this also at Leeudril?
Thanx for posting! :gflower:

Here are some pics of two leopards we saw near Leeudril on the evenong of 21 May 2012. I believe the one leopard is Kagiso, which we first spotted at the start of our holiday,(and had the hoNour of naming) and that the other is a new female, yet to be named :P

I can't tell the difference, so here are a whole lot of pics, and hopefully we can get a positive id.

Thanx for posting Gavin!

Your pix with 2 leos - Kagiso is the leopard furthest from the camera. Your pix of the single leopard - I believe that this is a new female. She looks an older leopard and, going by the pix I would hazard a guess that she could be Kagiso's mom(can't see any flirting going on here, and Kagiso obviously knows her).

Another African name coming up Gavin?

These are pics of Safran seen at 5:30 PM Oct. 10, 2012 at the Lifersdraai waterhole. She then made her way across the road and headed south. It's nice to see she is looking so healthy (at least to my eye). What a beauty she is!
