stayed at nr 2 a month ago....no picks but it has one big tree, a A frame and a long-drop.
Nice view and enough space.

Rooiputs campsite 6?

Unread post by Tobieo » Sun Aug 12, 2012 6:02 pm

I am going to Rooiputs in March next year for the first time and have been allocated camp site 6 (3 nights). Has anybody got some info on it and perhaps a photo?

It is the best site if you ask me but they are all great.

Big tree, A-Frame and lots of space.
It is the site with the deepest sand.

Hi Tobieo

We were allocated site 1 very nice and also, but as gryskat says they are all nice , just do remember they are very far apart and we experienced lions in the camp at our site and also a leopard in our tent. Truly an amazing camp and well worth the visit.

Hi Ettiene 1,

If it is the same leopard which you are talking about, I have seen the (a) picture of the leopard in the tent and it sure is Scary to know they just walk into the tent. If you do have more pics please post them.

  leopard in tent - my oh my - so not just the cheeky lions at Rooiputs the leopards are also testing our nerves! We stayed at site 5 in March this year shared ablution with 6 (no water) and must say 6 is a very nice site with regards to big shady trees which u will need! Stunning spot :D :D

Keep your tent zipped up. Good shade is at a premium and predators look for it.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

Site 6 is a good one, with some nice views and better shade than 5. But then there are no bad sites in Rooiputs

Lucky you!!

Four marvelous days at Rooiputs. Last year we stayed at number 3. Wonderful site with big tree. One evening the lion came through the camp just before sunset. This year we stayed at number 6. Also a lovely tree and a lion kill just outside the "gate" .

Thank you every one! Was the leopard hiding from the lion or hunting  I really look forward to my visit to KTP
