This looks a young Martial Eagle to me

Welsh-Ash & Chirinda: Most eagles have feathers all the way down to their feet. Except for the snake eagles and Fish eagle.
I think it is some kind of buzzard, but my Avatar tells me that it is definitily a raptor of some sorts :big_eyes:

Hi Roan. Are you referring to Chirinda's photo near the end of the last page? I was. The legs or feet of this raptor are hidden by the leaves of the tree.

First thought this was a Black-chested Snake Eagle but underside of head is not black...

this photograph is of a young Martial Eagle. The Blackbreasted Snake-eagle doesn't have feathers all the way down to the feet.

Those eyes! Imagine what a small mammal must feel like when they lock onto it :big_eyes: Was lucky enough to see one take a banded mongoose right next to the road towards Shingwedzi! :D
