Hi all

I got back today after a wonderful break in Cuba. It was a really interesting, exciting experience and I'll never forget it. A bit of a shock to the system after leaving a 34 degrees Havana and arriving at a -1 degree Amsterdam! The cams have certainly been a little muted recently which is a real shame. Thanks Vinkie for being so hard-working whilst I've been away...

Yesterday's results:

1. No. 6, Elephant making a mess of the Satara waterhole on 16 points
2. No. 5, Nice cape buffalo close upon 10 points
3. No. 11, Warthog drinking some water on 5 points
4. No. 13, Lots of kudu ewes on 5 points

No-one got this selection right

Please select 3 pics today:

1. Baboon in mid-stride
Image

2. Drinking gnu
Image

3. Dribbling ellie
Image

4. Distant ellie family
Image

5. Giraffes in excellent condition

6. Warthogs

7. Beautiful impie

8. Kudu bull strutting around

9. Posing kudu

Hi all

Sorry for the late post, I've been watching the football - I'm now a nervous wreck! A few might remember that my dog was ill recently, I thought I'd just give a quick update. He survived the surgery to amputate his leg, although it's very strange and a little upsetting to see him in pain. Needless to say the kids are mortified. But we just have to be thankful he's still with us and remember he's the same loyal pet he's always been. Orpen was very productive last night, but the rain tonight will certainly ensure that doesn't happen again for a while...

Yesterday's results:

1. No. 3, Close up snake on 16 points
2. No. 8, Wonderful sunrise, that's why I love Africa!! on 14 points
3. No. 9, Lioness still drinking on 12 points
4. No. 7, Hyena in favourite drinking pose on 4 points

No-one got the right combination

Please choose just 3 pics today:

1. Baboon sampling Satara
Image

2. Night-time buffalo pair

3. Ellie drinking tentatively
Image

4. Elusive genet
Image

5. Beautiful spottie with wonderful markings
Image

6. Impala cowering behind a bush - it's only a giraffe!
Image

7. Proud-looking marabou

8. Giraffe kisses his reflection

9. Sigh...

Hi all

I hope everyone has had a good week and is looking forward to the weekend. Orpen cam is down tonight, which is a shame - but we've still had an excellent day for sightings. On a non-camming note, I thought that any German cammers might be interested to know that my son is off to Heilbronn, near Stuttgart, in June. What a great opportunity to further his German knowledge and, hopefully, his fluency!

Yesterday's results:

1. No. 1, Close up blue wildebeest on 11 points
2. No. 2, Nice pair of giraffes on 11 points
3. No. 6, Cape buffalo on 6 points

No-one got the right combination - but a few were very close!

Please choose 4 pictures today:

1. These giraffes are becoming regulars
Image

2. Felix poses nicely
Image

3. That's not a troop, that's an entire army!
Image

4. Duiker wandering about Orpen
Image

5. Ellie pops in for a drink
Image

6. Genet spotted, in more ways than one...
Image

7. Warthog standing proud
Image

8. No males around? Ewes your time wisely!
Image

9. Baby baboon all alone
Image

10.Reflected stripes
Image

11. Wildebeest spooked by something
Image

12. Hyena on a mission
Image

Enjoy!

Hi all

We had a lovely extended sighting of ellies at Addo today and, as always, they were very entertaining! Thanks to all you loyal YFS voters - this thread would have died a long time if it weren't for you. Your participation is invaluable! I really hope you enjoy the selection today.

Hi all

It's been very, very wet here today. I suppose not much by the torrential African standards - but its certainly enough for us! The lions made a distant appearance today and several ellies hung around Orpen and Addo. It certainly made for a good camming day.

2. No. 3, Gorgeous hippo bottom on 5 points
3. No. 4, Ellies playing together on 3 points
