Great sighting and photo Scotm. :cam:
I try be first at the gate and sometimes I am successful. I came across a pride of lions lying on the H1-3 about 14 kms south of Satara earlier this month.
Here is a pic of the male lion.

Hi all, this lion, part of a pride seen on the S100 looks like a real bruiser. does anyone have any stories to tell about him?

Hi

On the 24th of Oct we saw over 10 lion cubs on the S 100, about 500m from the S41/S 100 T point. Some of the other vehicles claimed to have seen 15 cubs. They were seen from 0545 hours till 0945 when they went deeper into the bush on both sides of the road. What was surprising was the absence of any adult lions. The cubs were wandering around without any supervision and some went off on one side of the S 100 while others were on the other side. Would anyone have any idea what happened to the cubs and the rest of the pride?? A few pics of the cubs are given below

I agree with o-dog - nice Lion pictures. Issi - this one is a bit friendlier than the big guy above :D We took the photos on the 29 Nov 2011 a few meters from the Afsaal entrance.

Hi Meerkitty :D
Gorgeous lions, I cant tell from your pics but how many were in this pride.

I keep records of all the prides between Lower Sabie and Tshokwane so am very interested to hear more about them.

Regards

Hi :)

There were 4 lions - 2 males and 2 females
When we came across them, they were all lying very close, so it was like a bundle of lions
