Next edition

The impala was drinking onthe other side of the waterhole
and as rushed through the water she slipped and fell

Image

The lioness followed her She is just behind the impala running away in front

Image

Image
She went back into the water and that was that

Image
Took some more pics of both animals in the water and this was the conclussion.
Image

As I said in my first mail This took about 3 minutes from the time the lioness appeared out of the bush until she went back into the bush with her meal.
Right time right place as always applies

Hi

Don't have a map with me at the moement will check tonight and confirm, but close to BnD coming from Byamiti weir. We had seen nothing apart from a couple of ellies and impala at the weir. When we arrived at this waterhole there were lots of cars. Aparently someone had spotted the lioness eralier. (Supposed to have some cubs around - on some of the photos you can see her swolen teats) We were parked in and had to wait. Later only a few cars left. I was fooling around with my camera taking shots of the impala when all of this ocurred. Wouldn't have had time to reach for a camera.

Lovely shot once again Sprocky

Took this one near Skukuza

One elephant was drinking when the other appeared and didn't like the one already there. Had a couple of scary moments as he started off in our direction Fortunately changed direction

I was looking for the new thread that was started, "Mammals in Flight". But, I could not find it, so I thought I would post this one here. If anyone can find that thread for me, please post a link.

Anyway, this is an action shot, taken yesterday.

Lovely shots.  Have yet to see a cheetah at full pace.

Was lucky enough to see this fellow cross the SaBIE RIVER between Skukuza and Lower Sabie on Saturday. Unfortunately no sunshine , lots of cars so the picture quality is not great. Tried a bit of photoshop (still learning)

It jumped from rock to rock 3 times in total. I didn't think it could make all of them.

I took these in the KTP of 2 Cheetahs chasing an AWC

Happy to report the AWC escaped, but will probably be traumatised forever.

This is how to break a tough root. First dig a bit, then grab the root, then place all your power in your back legs, then pull....
