A super well done to Nicki Coertze for the image of the Fish eagle attacking a Vulture.
What a once in a lifetime photograph, well taken and congrats (I hope you read the forum Nicki).

I called Ed ("SO") over a couple hours ago to show him this photo, as it was so fabulous. (He knows full well what it takes to get such a shot, as he is the driver while I photograph, so appreciates the intricacies involved.) We both uttered a "WOW". Well done!

Thanks for all the compliments. Much appeciated. I was sitting at the Nsemani dam 7 km from Satara watching the total lack of activity. The fish eagle came down to the water and sat on a tree stump. After a while the vulture came down to the water app. 100 meters from the fish eagle and was drinking. It looked to me like the fish eagle was paying attention to the vulture so I focused on him. They were unfortunately otherside the dam otherwise I could get a clearer picture. Suddenly the fish eagle flew straight towards the vulture with the vulture trying to get away. But the fish eagle caught up with him and actually turned him upside down. I took about 9 shots in the sequence. Maybe I will publish a few more just for you to appreciate the sequence. My only difficulty was if I were to focuse on the fish eagle or the vulture and with the speed it hapenned focussing was difficult throughout. :cam:

That's an amazing shot. Did the vulture make it?
