TH, that is an awesome pic

To us the moon did seem bigger than normal at full moon. Etv news said it looks about about 30% larger, and 14% brighter. They also said watching it rise tomorrow night would be best as then the sky will be dark.

The moon rise was more impressive, size wise, I think. The moon set was very pretty over False Bay ... setting as the sun rose.

Sunday night. It's the "Super Moon!"

Unread post by Trrp-trrrrrrrr » Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:30 am

Saw the first stages of what is to come later this evening.... photo taken today at 07h17 this morning as the moon was setting behind Lions Head, in Cape Town.

Unfortunately I only have a point and shoot camera. :(

This made me think that all our 'mites with super special cameras could perhaps showcase their magnificent photos taken this evening here, for the enjoyment of us all. :D

DB ....hope you managed to take a pic.

Looking forward to see all :cam: taken by everyone!!!

Tried to take one as it appeared over the Hottentots Holland Mountains ...Unfortunately had to take it through the glass in our passage :wall: which made it blurry!!!....But it was a beautiful sight none the less. :)

Trrp-trrrrrrrr, well spotted as I was not aware until I arrived back home from a sunset shoot of Table Mountain from the Tygerberg Nature Reserve. As I was shooting some wonderful sunsets from the hill, a visitor called me to come and have a look at the moon rising over the Hottentot Holland Mountains.

After arriving back home, SO told me that it is Super Moon tonight and was I so glad that I managed to enjoy it and managed to get a few pics.

WOW was that amazing. Here are two pics of the bunch. Just a pity I did not have my tripod with me to get some decent close-ups.
