Thanks guys, you are the best :D
Duques has a spare pair of binocs and is taking them to Abel in three weeks, I shall take him a new birdbook for Christmas.
May need your help later if we can get him on a birding course.
Will keep you informed and thanks again

Hi
My parents will be visiting during November. I will request them to hand a book( I have several books and can pledge one) to Abel when they pass Letaba on the 6th.
If someone can please provide me with his contact details to contact him to arrange a time of delivery.

A Bird Course for Frank should be part of his formal SANParks career development...I cant believe it hasnt happenned as most other categories of jobs are catered for with extra curricular courses. What division does he fall under as I think a few telling questions should be asked about this

Peter if you read DB's post you will see Frank did in fact do the course  ...and if you read Richard Harris's trip report you will see he is also being trained to take guided birding walks.

Unfortunately when I checked them before packing them I noticed that quite a bit of some sort of fungus was growing inside one of the lenses...

So back to stage 1, and planning again...
