It's imperative.

I just spoke to PetraJ.

BAD NEWS...

She and the boys have been in an accident just after midnight, on her way to kruger / Balule. They were on the highway, near Middelburg when they hit a bakkie. He had no headlights on and stood still in the road. Due to the thick mist she only saw him when it was to late.

She's been released from the hospital this morning, with neck and shoulder pains. The boys were slightly injured. The oldest boy has some damaged knees from smashing into the dashboard and the other one with wounds to his head. But they are all fine. THANK GOD. Please also think of them this weekend and hope for a quick recovery.

Poor Petra, she was looking so much forward to this weekend :( Luckily nothing worse happened, even if it is bad enough.

I'm back in Roodepoort now. Just been to the hospital here again for some xrays of my neck and shoulder. There were no persons attending the xtray machines at the hospital in Middelburg, so I had to come to the hospital here. Just after midnight we were 10km from the Middelburg toll road when a bakkie stood in the right hand lane on the highway. His lights were not working and he was standing next to another accident that happened moments ago. Due to the very heavy mist I only saw him when I was about 10metres from it. I immediately hit the brakes, but there were no chance for me to miss him.

My car is a total write off due to the fact that the chessy (or something like that) broke. The engine moved backwards and the front doors cannot open. My son who was in the front seat injured his knees on the dashboard. My son in the back has a nasty cut on his forehead and had to get some stitches. Luckily I only have some soft tissue injury on my neck and my muscles are stretched due to the whiplash. I am blue from the safetybelt and my shoulder is bruised. No serious injuries.

I'm wearing a neckstut for the next 3 weeks and are not allowed to drive in that time... no problem for I have no car now anyway. Don't know when I will be able to go to KNP now again, my heart is to sore now even to think about it.

We are still crying about missing this long planned holiday, but in the same time it is tears of relieve because we are alive .

Hope everyone there enjoy there weekend.

Petra

Ai PetraJ... We are glad that everyone is ok, but it was such an unnecasary thing to happen. How on earth does a car stand still in a drive lane, especially at an accident scene AND mist all around...

However I am pretty sure that somehow you will be fortunate to go to Kruger again, and in the near future as well. Somehow someone gets through these stuff... and you will too. You really are in our prayers...stay strong, and all will be well soon..
