Can anyone ID these butterflies for me? I think the small one, top right, might be a Common Dotted Blue? Seen in KNP in June near Kwaggaspan.

And here is another pic from the same time, same place. There are four butterflies on it. From the top left, these are my guesses:

Female orange Tip, Brown-veined White, Common Dotted Blue and, below them to the right of centre, a Patricia Blue.

I've never tried to identify butterflies before and my only reference is Butterflies of Southern Africa by Mark Williams, so would appreciate it if someone could confirm or rename for me. Many thanks.

And another guess from the bitter tea bush at Kwaggaspan in June 2016 - maybe a Common Meadow Blue?

In the above photo, there was, to the left of the possible Common Meadow Blue, a rather blurred yellow butterfly. Here it is in clearer form, and I'm not even going to guess  So, same time, same place as above if anyone can help.

Salamanda, the only one I can ID so far is in your second pic, second from the left which I think must be a White-cloaked Skipper
will try and have a go at the others in due course, but my guide is not Butterfly specific so might not have all the species!

Hi Elsa

I cannot open any of Salamanda's images. This "image" system on the forum is new a new thing to me. Do I need to download Photobucket or what am I doing wrong?
Feel free to move this to another thread if necessary. Thanks.

Only the first one is not showing for me shfish and no, you don't have to do anything to view the photos, something must have gone wrong with Salamanda's Photobucket link as it was showing earlier.
Lets see if she can correct the link.

Sorry everyone. There seems to be a problem between the new update for Firefox and Photobucket. Apparently the problem is with Firefox and hopefully they will fix it. In the meantime I am experimenting with using the inline method.

OK I have managed to repost them, but unfortunately I don't know how one would make them larger. ( They can be seen more clearly from photobucket because they are larger when posted here)

Hi Salamanda
Here are my (uneducated) ID's.
In the first pic the butterfly on the left may be an Aranda Copper. I agree with the other being a Common Dotted Blue.
In the second pic, IMO, a Banded Gold Tip, Brown Veined White(agreed), Common Dotted Blue and in front a Twinspot Blue.
The Blue in the 3rd pic is a mystery but I think all the Meadow Blues have orange on the upper hind wing?
As for the yellow butterfly.......I see why you couldn't even hazard a guess!! Could it possibly be a Lemon Tip?
Thanks for posting your butterfly pics - as tedious as it is to try and id these creatures, the sooner we do it the sooner we'll know our butterflies!
