Welcome erka.

The Sanparks.org website has lots of information about Kruger Park and all the camps. Enter Kruger Park - then choose a camp - then enter where to stay and you will get details of accommodation available.

Mopani is a nice camp with a range of accommodation. There is a shop, a restaurant and a petrol/diesel station.

Shingwedzi is quite a large camp and has a range of accommodation, a shop, a restaurant and a petrol/diesel station.

Punda Maria is a long way up north. It is a quaint camp. It has permanent safari tents with wc and shower and a few rooms with wc and shower. There is a small shop, small restaurant and a fuel station.

The north is very different to the south - not so many visitors but also not the same density of animals. It is an interesting area and a trip up to Crooks' Corner and the Pafuri picnic site are a "must".

Warm welcome erka!

Have a look through the Availability
As Hippotragus has indicated good camps with restaurants up north are Mopani, Shingwedzi and Punda Maria.
If you click on the camps we have suggested you will see a description of the accommodation and then go onto the month you will visit and see if they are available for those dates.
For Mopani try and get a bungalow with a dam view ie perimeter. 8)
If this is your first visit to Kruger do be aware that the north although beautiful and scenic with some of the rarer antelopes, big tuskers etc, if you are looking for more animal sightings, the big 5, then the south of the park, although busier with visitors, will be more productive but that is a personal choice.
Please do ask if there is anything further you would like to know.

Satara BD2N units

Unread post by nolmes » Mon Jan 16, 2017 4:22 pm

Hi, would appreciate some advice please as I've never stayed at Satara before. I've booked 3 nights at Satara in a BD2N unit and managed to reserve unit 14 which looks like its next to the perimeter fence. Are these decent units in a good location within the camp or would the BD2 units be a better option? The BD2V units are all taken. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Warm welcome to the forum nolmes!

I would stay with the BD2N as those are generally the renovated bungalows.
You can have a look at # 10 that I stayed in last year.

Enjoy your visit and please do ask if there is anything else we can help with.

Welcome to the Forum nolmes.

During our last trip in November 2016, we had 5 nights at Satara and were given Unit 15. It was the first time we had ever stayed in the A circle and we were very impressed. The hut design is slightly different to the other circles (we found it much better) and the position is right next to the external fence. We will be back in the Park in March and hope to reserve the same hut again. We would recommend it...enjoy your trip!
