Great Elsa, again!

The link was just what I was looking for, but clearly in the wrong place.

Seeing as I started this thread, I best give my feedback !

We popped in for lunch the other day and actually had a good meal. Chips were good, burger - as good as a burger can get, BUT the milkshakes were verrrry good! Talk about a blast from the past! I had a Strawberry one and my colleague a Bar-one one, which was a winner.

I'm not sure I could eat that every day, but once in a while it's good. Service was also good - Fairly sharp and friendly!

I have eaten here maybe 3 times in the evening and the food has always been good (I don't eat salads or healthy food), I have had 8 Strawberry Milkshakes though and they are divine. 3 in one day is my record and I am tempted to try and beat it in a few months but I think we are going further North this time.

Hi there,

according to this press release there are some issues with the Mug&Bean restaurants:
https://www.sanparks.org/about/news/?id=57102
Does anybody know, whether the embarking on an arbitration process means that the restaurants are not open at all? Just wondering because it also says that they plan to put temporary substitutes in peak times...do they want to set up additional restaurants or are the just talking about additional (not Mug&Bean employed) personnel?
Thanks!!
Chris

Here are some more news:

Reads as if in future the restaurants in Letaba, Satara and Olifants won't be Mugg&Beans any more...

We are currently at Satara. Restaurant open but M&B and Debonaires signage and uniforms gone. Apparently menus still M&B but some items served differently to menu description (hearsay, haven't been myself).

I actually brought this problem up in January but was shot down in flames......
It just goes to show... that "there is fire....where there's smoke"
Maybe just covered up at the time.

We had evening meals in Jan/Feb

Letaba - Mugg & Bean - disappointed - had a salad and it was literally swimming with dressing.

Shingwedzi - Tindlovu - Had a fish course and no problems

Mopani - Tindlovu - pleasantly surprised as we haven't eaten in restaurant for several years. My wife had a prawn dish and said it was best meal she had had in the park for a few years.

Olifants - Mugg & Bean - disappointed. Tried the salad again,, but why advertise it as fresh Avo when they are not available.

Satara - Mugg & Bean - tried a salad again, but not anything like the menu described. Meal reasonable except for being continually molested by the monkeys

Satara - Debonaires - I am not a pizza man but they were very nice. Will be sorry if they aren't there next time.

Lower Sabine - Mugg & Bean - had breakfast and who can spoil bacon and egg.

I have come to the conclusion that M&B are o/k for breakfasts, but for a real evening meal ithey need a different menu. Of the two I now prefer the Tindlovu menu.

M&B great at Lower Sabie and Olifants for me on many occasions, though mainly brunch/lunch. Having eaten previously at Olifants and been very dissappointed, I have loved having decent food there! Shame to see it go. (Though the avo bit rings true - not on my croque madame the other week but did appear when I asked)
