Recieved this report about 11h00 on Sunday 5 March 2017.

There is a serious road damage on the way towards Tshokwane from Skukuza, some 5 kilometers after the Sabie River high water bridge due to a lots of water coming down from one of our small dam on that river which burst last night. Therefore the H1/2 between Tshokwane and Skukuza is closed and might remain closed for a few months. The only access road to the North and to the South between Skukuza and Tshokwane will be via the low water bridge just East of Lower Sabie camp which in itself is under water at the moment but we hope that water will subside later in the day because it is no longer raining. Visitors who will be traveling between Satara and Skukuza or Skukuza to Satara must first check the water situation at Lower Sabie low water bridge at the reception offices before traveling. We will keep all informed of the developments on this unforeseen act of nature which is causing this inconveniences as the day progresses.

I have just recieved news that the Lower sabie Causeway to the north (H10) is now passable.

I am at Lower Sabie

The bridge here has been re-opened.

The H1-3 Skukuza- Tshokwane road will be closed for weeks/months because of bridge washed away near Mantimahle.

Good day. I see that the bridge near Mantimahle has been washed away. Is Satara still accessible from Crockodile Bridge Rest Camp?

Hi all,

Now as the H1-2 detour between skukuza and tshokwane is open I was wondering if the other gravel roads that have been closed in the beginning of march in the Marula Region (H2-2, S30 and S79) are also open again?
Thx a lot for any updates!!

We were there 2nd to 9th March and most of the roads were being opened. As far as I know, there has not been significant rainfall since then, so I presume all the roads are now open. There was a lot of damage to the S30 Salitje Road at one of the river crossings, but I am sure that will have been fixed by now.

Maybe someone what has been there more recently can comment??

We are travelling from Malelane gate to Satara with a car and quite a big caravan. Can anybody tell us if the roads will allow travel with a caravan, specifically the detour that is now open on the road between Skukuza and Tshokwane.
