Centipedes have 1 pair of legs per body segment. How many pairs of legs do millipedes have per body segment?

Just to point out that neither millipedes nor centipeds are actually insects - they belong to a separate class of arthropods.

We often use the terms "bug" and "insect" interchangeably, despite the fact that they are not the same thing (although bugs do fall under the class of insects). What characteristics define a bug?

Thanks OWN

I believe the most common characteristic of true bugs (Hemipetra) is the mouthpart. They all have a long slender beak shaped mouth part that looks like a straw. They use to poke through plants and occasionally animal skin and suck out sap or blood.

Characteristics are divided into three regions: head, thorax and abdomen.

No!

"Among the arthropods, some animals are more closely related to one another than to others. So we have a name for creatures with three body parts and six legs: Insects. And we have another name for those that have two body parts and eight legs: Spiders".
