Thanks, I will do. Can you recommend ant BG2?

Hi McShawu, unfortunately I can't really say with any great certainty what those are like as we stayed in a BD3, # 29, which on the map is in the top left hand corner.
It had a kitchen/bathroom and is a 3 sleeper.
Altho the chalet itself was a little "tired" the view was great from there.

But, if your chalet itself doesn't have a good view, one can easily take a walk to the benches in front of the restaurant and sit there for a while.
Have you nominated someone in the Annual Forum Awards yet?

Hi
Letaba camp has such a big variety of accommodation types! Although the units that show a perimeter should have a view, you will notice that they are built in a half moon. This means that there are no units infront of you, but you are quite far from the fence.

The BG2 units have no view, so it is built in a circle where you have other units 'in front' of you - and no kitchenette.
The BG3U units are in the circles that have no units infornt of you, but some of them have the outside kitchen area inclosed with the mesh - others have open stoeps.
If you want the 'better' BG3U units, request to be in circle D.

I personally (if the budget allows it) prefer the Guest Cottages FQ6. They have a great view, big braai area and you have much more privacy and space.

Hi Jo,

The 4 bed Safari tents are in front of and slightly to the right of the 2 bed Tents. They are close to the camping site.

Hi Jo,

I was there last week and I especially went to look at them.

They are new, modern and I will stay in them next time.

About a week before you go, contact David at the camp and ask for any of nos 4 - 8, they are the ones on the fence.

Hi naomi c,
As alf said the site without power is on the right hand side when turning into the camping area (past the swimming pool) These campsites have the code CK6.... Have a look here on the Letaba map. It will give you a good idea...

I saw the new safari tents in April. Very nice, and they are next, just beyond the pool.

Vibo,

The view from those bungalows are amazing but for me they are just too close to the restaurant area and the little pathway goes right infront of them so plenty people walking on your doorstep. I would suggest you get bungalow no 30 which is a BD3U. That is in the left corner of the camp and you have no people walking past. I will be in Letaba next week thursday!!!!

Have made a booking in October for a 4 bed Safari Tent in Letaba

If anyone has stayed in the new ones recently would appreciate advice on which tent they recommend

Have booked number 4 at present

Would appreciate any ideas on this as we love peace and quiet as well as a good view of the bush

Letaba

I have booked the Fish Eagle Guest House for 6 people and wondered if anyone has stayed there. The question I have is this: Is there only one bathroom? It looks from the listing that is all they have in this four bedroom house, but then when I look at the pictures, there are definately two different bathrooms pictured! Would appreciate it if anyone can help me out on this!

There are 12 of us coming from the United States. I am in charge for booking everything and want this to be a pleasant experience for everyone. Six sharing one bathroom probably would be a little much.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Sure, you can come - we have an extra bedroom right now! There are 12 of us right now . I have the Fish Eagle and the Melville for our group. That leaves room for two more couples who might sign up. Both look marvelous.
Thanks for clarifying.... Glad to hear of the bathrooms!

Letaba does not allocate camp sites but we managed to get the best in August . On the fence the one thats the last one on the far left if you are facing the fence . next to a gate( not in use} I think it was 54. On the one side are trees and behind trees and in front bush and on the left side another caravan site but quite far away .You will need a very long electric cord though.Oh and it has plenty of shade

While recently staying at Letaba I went to have a look at the four-bed tents which have been relocated from the main camping area. They are between the camping and the swimming pool, and there is plenty of shade. They also have their own ablution block and a communal braai area. Tents 4 - 8 are on the fence with No 4 being on the camping side and No 8 next to the pool - No 7 & 8 could be very noisy in summer with the swimming pool so close. Also noted that the "front door" of the tents is now a glass sliding door.

We visited Letaba during august and a forum member requested a few pics of guest cottage 105. Sorry for taking so long to post. I only have pictures of the outside and the view.
