Hi all, so we had a huge last minute change in plans where we had to unfortunately change a trip to the Richtersveld, but we managed a full week in KNP starting next weekend, really looking forward to it!

We were very lucky to have secured 3 nights at Tsendze but obviously very few sites available. We have provisionally booked #32 as we wanted to be as close to the fence as possible and away from the main areas. Anyone have feedback on this site? Our other choices were 31, 33 and 34.

We really looking forward to going and meeting Rodger and Elina.

Hi All

We will be visiting Tsendze for the first time for four nights over New Years and have booked site 22. I understand 26, 3 and 6 are the top rated ones but they are unfortunately taken but from what I have seen 22 is quite large (we have a Jurgens Oryx), is shaded and not too far from the fence? I have read on other forums you need to bring at least a 20m extension for your solar panels here? Anybody stayed on 22 and had this issue or and comments on the site?

I am super excited at finally being able to get to this camp and experience first hand what I have seen on the forums!

Looking forward to meeting Rodger!

Congratulations and happy birthday tomorrow, Tsendze! I have peered through the fence from the picnic site, but have yet to stay there - need to get a caravan or tent!!

Thank you rodgerh for looking after the camp so well and keeping us informed of sightings and news.

Bundi wrote:Good morning everyone

I have been through the whole thread and it seems the options in Tsendze are almost limitless in terms of best sites.

Can anyone who has camped on number 3 tell me if the shade on this stand is sufficient?

Hi Bundi I've stayed on site # 3 a few times already for long periods of up to 14 days and the shade will differ between winter and summer. The whole site will not be in the shade with the section closest to the fence mostly exposed. You actually will need some sun if you are charging from solar power panels, but there are plenty of space for the tent / caravan to stand in the shade.

There is a site on internet that you can use to view the movement of sun over the camp. Just add in the coordinates and date you will be there.

23° 33' 21.927" S 31° 26' 37.605" E

IceT wrote:Hi Roger and friends of Tsendze camp. We have booked our super exciting 7 nights here from 29 Dec 2017 and would like to now book the site number. I have been trying to call Mopani camp on (013) 7356535 all morning and can't get through. Is there another way of booking our camp site? Would really like camp no 26.

Oh, I've just found out that Mopani is without electricity - so that's why not answering.

So just to get an update then.... is 26 still the best site? : with respect to being on the fence and some privacy? And would there be sunlight for our solar panel (we have a 10m cable).

You will get enough shade there, but also sunshine spots for the solar panel. We normally try to book #3 for some privacy, but if there are a few large crowds no site will guarantee total privacy or quiet time during school holidays.

You can also try 3, 5, 14, 15, 22, 23 and 24 if you don't come right with 26.
