Why does live cam look different then still shots?

Unread post by llytel » Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:36 am

I generally like to watch the live cam. I am watching this at 20 minutes after midnight SA time, it is currently 5:30pm Eastern Standard Time. When I look at the live cam in Orpen it looks like it is noon over there, I can see alot of the trees in the background and everything, but on the still shot it looks like it should like midnight ?
Why is it like that, is it a different camera for the live feed ? I have turned alot of people on to this website here in the Orlando Florida area.

My bad, I finally got it to refresh and now it is dark again. that was weird.

We are launching Satara very soon, possibly today or Monday. :)

Nossob, unfortunately is a different story, we will not have infrastructure capabilities for a while yet and the closet ETA we can give is between 2-3 years.

I noticed how wide the flood light range is, now is that just one powerful light or are there multiple lights ?

Just wondering

Is Nossob Cam being upgraded ?

Unread post by llytel » Fri Apr 12, 2013 6:31 pm

I could have swore I saw the camera at Nossob back out and give a wider view in the background. Almost if you were in the gazebo right at Nossob ?

G'day Nicky :D

Your Honours project sounds very interesting 8)
Just out of interest, are you taking counts of animals that visit the waterhole, or looking at the timing of their visits?

Unfortunately I don't know of any way to make the images clearer, but there are lots of talented mites on the forums who might be able to help in that department

Hi there :)

I am counting the number of animals at the waterholes as well as observing their behaviour. I am relating it to temperature and rainfall as well.

It is very interesting, there are just a lot of photos that i need to look through haha!

Where should i post to ask for help?

Welcome Nickymara!

I'm afraid I can't really help you on your question either,
but I don't think there are many options to improve the
quality of the camshots. They are small in size to keep
the storage needed bearable, I think. The only thing you
could try is to inquire with SanParks themselves. :hmz:

Hi Nicky,

Welcome to the Forum and the wonderful world of SANParks Webcams.

First a quick question: Why would you like to enhance the webcam image quality?
But to answer your question you can use the following programs:

- Photoshop
- Paint
- Lightroom
- or any other image enhancing software.

Take a look at this online link to image enhancing
