I'll make a guess:

2. Burchell's coucal

(also you really should be specific about which park when you ask for ID, as for many formumites, 'the park' is KTP  )
RSA 2016
4,5 April Melville
6-19 April KNP: Croc Bridge, Olifants, Shingwedzi, Pafuri Border
20-24 April Mapungubwe: Leokwe
25 April-28 May Darling
29 May-19 June Cape Town
* * *
21 September-21 November Darling

OK didn't know about KTP being the park. :-) These were taken in KNP around croc bridge area on the way to Hippo pools.

I agree with arks about 'the ' park, but with the others about the IDs.

The coucal, looks like it could be a Senegal.....

Go with Burchell's unless there is compelling evidence otherwise, as Senegal are found north of Kruger & sometimes stray in.

Hi everyone. Just returned from Kruger and clueless about some of my bird sightings as usual. Any help identifying these would be appreciated. All pictures were taken in February.

1. Near Lower Sabie- I was thinking maybe a Cuckoo or Burchell's Coucal?

Identification Help - General Birds

Unread post by roaneric » Tue Aug 30, 2016 1:34 pm

Hi Everyone

I'm a newbie in birding and decided to make my first bird list. I went through all the bird pics I took the last 10 years and my list coming on nicely. I just have trouble ID some of the birds (either the pics are not that good or I can't seem to ID them correctly) so I need help please. Here is my LBJ pics I have trouble with

I changed the lightning and zoomed in so you can see better on some of the photos

Bird 7 What kind of coucal is this? (October, North krugerpark)
