Swift, Little

Unread post by Johan van Rensburg » Sun Oct 27, 2013 5:05 pm

The Little Swift, Apus affinis, is a wide-spread, common resident, but some migrate a little north to get away from our serious highveld winter cold.

The short square-ended stub of a tail and white rump is diagnostic.

I would go with little swift on the top. White throat and black under parts. Square tail rules out the Horus and White rumped.

Lets see what the others have to say.
