Nice one, WTM. Swifts are challenging subjects to photograph!

What makes this shot special is that it shows the bird with a throat pouch full of food. He / she is probably collecting food for nestlings that may a hundred or more kilos away from where this bird hunted! They can cover as much as 1000 km in a single day!

I took this second shot in the observation tower at Lower Sabie some years ago, catching the ABS busy building its nest. They stick feathers and grass together with their saliva and build a thin saucer that is used for the nest. All nesting materials are collected on the wing...
