Flycatcher, blue-mantled crested-

Unread postby Johan van Rensburg » Mon Dec 24, 2012 7:45 pm

This is a male blue-mantled crested-flycatcher, generally a secretive bird of the deep shadowy areas of thick bush. Their diet is exclusively made up of small invertebrates, often foraging from a perch from which it takes short looping flights to hawk prey items. With their dark plumage they are often very difficult to spot in the habitat they frequent.
