Challenge to all Birders!

Unread post by hilda » Sat Dec 17, 2016 10:19 am

All Birders should participate annually to compile a bird list for the year and to see how close we can get to the official bird list of Southern Africa! The current total is 752 out of more than 900 species in Southern Africa. Here is a challenge for all Birders!

We have 2 weeks to go for the year, please alert all forumites and Stiffnecks because there are Kruger birds that can be ticked off still, like;
Lesser Spotted Eagle
Montagu's Harrier
Olive-tree Warbler
Pennant-winged Nightjar
Steppe Eagle
Thick-billed Cuckoo

and others in my area like Common chaffinch.

Let's take this to its limits!

Does it count that I see the common chaffinch and mute swan here in the UK :whistle: :hmz: :tongue: :think:

I looked at the list after we came back from holiday. All our sightings were already on the list......

There were a couple of TRs that mentioned sightings of nightjar. Maybe the authors can confirm.
