Camaroptera, Green-backed

Unread post by Scottm » Mon Mar 30, 2009 5:04 pm

I am trying to ID a number of birds from photos taken over the years. Below are two that I need someone to confirm ID's. Simple challenge for those in the know.

Taken in Kruger, August. Looks like Greenbacked Bleating Warbler. Any advances on this?

Bird about 10-12 cm excl tail

Any help or comments welcome... and many more pics to follow

Yup, this one is Green-backed Camaroptera (formerly known as bleating warbler).

1. Camaroptera, but I can't make out if it is a grey-backed or a green-backed.

Thanks Wildtuin man

I would go with green, in the range.
Made a lot of noise similar to one of the children's party whistles, Keeeeeeee.
Was actually cute.

Him, the scrub robin, grey headed bushrike, redcapped robin chat and a brubru all in the same bushes looking for grub.

Okay I haven't checked any books or references yet, but here is what I get at first glance:

1. Green-backed Camaroptera
