Here are two more birds that have me stumped :wall: , both seen in the Pafuri area of KNP in mid-April 2016.

1. This one I'm thinking might be a black cuckoo?

2. I've NO idea what this one might be ... a juvenile of some sort perhaps? Am I missing something obvious?

Arks, I'd guess Red-billed Buffalo Weaver (Male in the first photograph and female in the other 3)

Many thanks, Albert :gflower:

What confuses me about the first bird is that dark bill :hmz:

Hi Arks, from what I have read and seen, the sub-adult male RBBW could have a dark bill (anything from dark to horn-coloured). It is difficult for me to see if the bill in the photograph is actually dark or red.

Thanks Karin. Guess I need to get a better book. Was thinking Namaqua Dove but confused as no black face.

I have 6 books, and sometimes I still cannot ID some birds! I don't think any of my books show pictures juvenile Namaqua doves.
The long tail on this one is what made me think of one, so I googled it quickly. The Wikipedia description and some images on the web helped.
