Two more of those mystifying waders, these seen at Engelhard dam in mid-April 2016. I'm thinking that the larger one may be a ruff, while the smaller may be a little stint? They were quite far away so these photos are very cropped.

You are most probably correct, Arks.

Cannot argue too much with the two id's.

Could anyone please assist in helping me to ID the following birds:-

Unfortunately these are the best photos I have of them. :wall:

Saw them during our trip in May to Addo National Park.

The 2nd photo I circled the birds as their colouring was totally different to the other African Pied Starlings... Could they be juveniles?

I think that your circled birds might be wattled starlings and that #3 may be a streakyheaded seedeater. No idea on #1.

The firts one is a challenge. Perhaps one of the flycatchers? Then it could be Dusky or Spotted. Spotted is a summer visitor, not sute if they would be around in May.
Maybe one of the experts have better ideas

I can't find anywhere that has a good collection of birds in flight to help ID this one, it is a tough one though taken in late September in Kruger.

I agree with Ladybirder on the Grassbird. And also with umtali1 on the hoopoo
