Knapie, the impression it gives me is that of a Martial Eagle.

Small crest on the back of the head and the grey cere.

Olifantscamp in KrugerPark, a great place to see Martial eagles. I filmed a couple in flight and it was one of the highlights of our visit to KNP, what an amazing machine is that Martial Eagle in the air.

Some great pics and talk of various Marshall Eagles seen in KNP. I must admit that they are a highlight of any trip. My personal best was a sighting in 2008 when ½ km outside the entrance to Shingwedzi we spotted a Martial. Not only a Marshall, but a Marshall on a kill. A young Impala. I’ve not got a Flicker account, but if you want to send mean e-mail address I’ll forward it to be posted. I also managed to get some video footage. To hear the flesh rip and see the blood drip off the tip of the beak was awesome. The best was that we were alone at the sighting and could turn off the engine and just sit and watch.
To see a sunrise in KNP is to see magic.

Another stunner, Nico

which I unfortunately only found today  Olifants is always a great place to watch eagles circling in the air. Your video is brilliant but the tiny elephant calf in the beginning is also magnificent.

Thank you

Recently saw this beautiful immature Martial Eagle in Kgalagadi. He was sitting on a branch over the road - and caused a KTP traffic jam of his own!
