It was in particular fantastic to be able to add two new birds to the Park's list:

African Rail and Dark-capped Yellow-Warbler.

That is one impressive birdlist! :shock: Even a Pel's!! Mapungubwe is an amazing place.

Hi Naomi, yes, it is an amazing place.

7 Owl species in the camp over 3 nights:

Barn Owl
Barred Owlet
Pearl-spotted Owlet
African Scops-Owl
Southern White-faced Scops-Owl
Verreaux's Eagle-Owl
Pel's Fishing-Owl

Wow, that is fantastic! Including a Pels?! :shock: Where did you stay? When visiting we always camp - next to Bontle in Marakele, Mazhou is our favourite campsite! I still need a White-faced Scops Owl for my lifelist and obviously the Pels! :D

We camped at a special HR location just east of the tented camp in the western part of the Park. Unfortunately not open to the public.

WTM, your African Hawk Eagle photo seems to be Blue Cranes? You might want to fix that? :wink: Are blue cranes even found in Mapungubwe?

Truly weird WTM, because I am still seeing those blue cranes where you are seeing the eagle. :hmz: More mysteries of cyberspace :roll: :whistle:
