Nice, agree the flying one #5 is that as well?

Regards, Michael

Indeed #5 is also a greater kestrel - juvenile (dark eye), while the pale eye of #4 points to an adult greater kestrel.

Good Evening Great Dane.

Here's my 2 cents worth towards your Raptors:
4. The cute fluffy thing is a Greater Kestrel. Streaking on head and yellow eye with general tawny appearance.
5. Hmmm Possibly Sub-Adult or Juv Greater Kestrel.
Hope that helps somewhat....
Stiffneck on the loose.....
Latest Lifer:= Lesser Crested Tern; Rufous Winged Cisticola.

Pics a bit blurred but it looks like a greater kestrel to me.

Sorry BB, the bastard would hover.. :P

There were quite a few kestrels on the road between Ceres and Calvinia.

Colours and markings match my SBOSA. Thanks

Lesser kestrels usually sit on the wires & greater usually sit on the poles.
