Thanks, I did look at the fire finches. And we did see Red-Billed, so maybe it is the young one

This little bird was seen in KNP (Skukuza area) during March 2017, and I have no idea where to start to ID it. This very poor picture was heavily cropped since the bird was sitting far away, and flew away after only this one picture. Please help!

Hilda, without a book nearby I would have thought this is a cisticola, but there is only about 3 that can be found there, and this on does not look like any of them.
Hopefully an expert will be able to help!

The undertail pattern certainly suggests a Cisiicola. Most likely a Rattling then.
