The Lake Panic bird is a Tawny-flanked Prinia

Perhaps a Yellow-bellied Eremomela?

Thank you Karin Mitton and gatita....I can not believe that I kept on looking for the TF Prinia
wanting it to have it's tail upwards.

Appreciated.

I tend to agree with this.

Who is this?

Unread post by UKPete » Sun Dec 11, 2016 8:21 am

From UK so all I see in my back garden are sparrows, blackbirds and robins!
Just back from Kruger and part of the fun is identifying the birds and animals I have photographed - I have a guide to birds with photos in, but if the picture in the book isn't the same angle as the subject it can get tricky.
This fellow was by the Matambeni Hide, Letaba on 28 November - anyone help with who he/she is?

Thank you very much Karin and Insinkwe for the speedy responses. I have this bird pictured in my 'Pocket Guide to Birds of Southern Africa' and the description given there matches even if the picture doesn't fully. I can see Father Christmas is going to have to buy me a better guide!
