we saw this raptor flying over H14, January 10th 2011. Could you help me with the ID?

Not a great pic charbel, but my first instinct is a dark chanting goshawk.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

Yes, the pic was not good. Cropped from a far away photo. Thanks for the tentative ID.

Do you agree that this is a Juv Gabar Goshawk seen in Kruger in Feb?
I am always a bit confused between that and a Dark Chanting Goshawk? :doh:

Hi Elsa, yes Dark Chanting Goshawk. The GISS of this bird is very much different from that of the Gabar and the Gabar is also much smaller.
