My list has stagnated a little  but I have a MNZP and Addo trip coming up before the end of the year, so hopefully I will end the year on a total that is a little higher!

Up to 645 with a brief sighting of Three-banded Courser and a great sighting of Pel's

A veritable army of birders was with me this morning when I saw the Temminck's stint at Strandfontein to take me up to 746

With my poor eyesight Hilda, there is no point in me being first at the site, but with 30+ cars and keen-visioned twitchers there already, it makes it a lot easier.

Thanks to my occasional birding buddy Tertius Gous, it wasn't long before it was in the bag through his scope.

Joh arrived in Cape Town late last night to chase the stint, and another 4 rarities have been reported at Strandfontein in a 200 metre area, not even counting the now 'resident' African Jacana. I expect Joh to get to 700 or pretty close by the time he flies out on Monday, as we have planned to spend time looking for his remaining WC birds.

Joh left for home on Monday night.

We drove a lot of kilometres in search of some little birds.

My side of the story is that I added 3:
cinnamon breasted warbler (Uiteindelik - eveeeentually)
karoo eremomela and
Cape long-billed lark

that takes me to 749  :wall:

I have about 6 stories that would make you cry about missing a single bird that would have got me to 750, but Strandfontein you beauty, throw up something else soon please.

Oh' yes, Joh will tell his side when he recovers.
