It's about time I update my list here:

KNP in October saw us getting:
538 - Black Cuckooshrike (Swarkatakoeroe)
643 - Willow Warbler (Hofsanger)
696 - Pale Flycatcher (Muiskleurvlievanger)

A bit of touring around the Western Cape in Dec got us:
3 - African Penguin (Brilpikkewyn) - at Boulders
577b - Karoo Thrush (Geelbeklyster) - realized while in Cape Town we've never ticked off this regular to our garden in Centurion...
334 - Damara Tern (Damarasterretjie) - De Mond Nature Reserve
370a - Knysna Turaco (Knysnaloerie) - Wilderness NP
768 - Black-bellied Starling (Swartpensglansspreeu) - Wilderness NP
113 - Southern Potchard (Bruineend) - Wilderness NP
117 - Maccoa Duck (Bloubekeend) - Wilderness NP
877 - Brimstone Canary (Dikbekkanarie) - Wilderness NP
223 - African Swamphen (Grootkoningriethaan) - Wilderness NP
750 - Olive Bushshrike (Olyfboslaksman) - Stilbaai

A really good birding year in 2014 with 75 new birds in this past year!

Then Dullstroom in January:
637 - Dark-capped Yellow Warbler (Geelsanger)
489 - Red-throated Wryneck (Draaihals)

Which brings our new total to 457. No target as per usual for the end of the year - just as many as we can get and to enjoy them all along the way!

At last!!!! I have movement on my list...My new total is 377 thanks to a wonderful weekend of guided birding with the Waterberg Honary Rangers in Mapungubwe National Park. I now have 24 new lifers (all seen and ID'd) to brag about that include:
Senegal Coucal
Meyers Parrot
European Honey Guide
African Crake
African Cuckoo
Allen's Gallinule
Burchell's Sandgrouse
Blue-cheeked Bee-eater
Acacia Pied Barbet
and a host of warblers...
With a total of 235 birds seen or heard by our group, it was an awesome weekend of birding. The Waterberg HR's really organised a brilliant weekend.

Hey Bushbuddies, you don't get the Karoo thrush in Cape Town, but the Olive thrush.

Next time you are in CT let me know and maybe I can get you some of the endemics like Cape Rockjumper, Victorin's warbler, Swee waxbill etc.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

Yes Bush Baptist! :slap: We did see the Olive Thrush and realized one of the thrushes under the number 577 (both the Olive and the Karoo Thrush) - was not ticked off yet on our list. The Karoo Thrush is a regular in our own garden! But we've never ticked it off our list before (unlike the Olive Thrush). So edit that one - actually literally ticked it off in W Cape area but seen in Pretoria!

We should definitely make a plan if we come down to Cape Town again!

OK, I'll join. Birding is a fairly new hobby for me. At the end of 2014 my list was at 167. So far in 2015 I have already seen 144 species! My list currently stands on 234 thanks to wonderful trips to Karoo National Park, Sutherland and Cape Town.

Feb to date I have added 4 new species to the list -
Common Scimitarbill
Rock Martin
Sickle-winged Chat
Spotted Flycatcher
