Storms River Mouth Honeymon Cottages

Unread postby gqueen » Fri Apr 17, 2009 3:42 pm

Hi All,
We stayed in the honeymoon cabins 2 years ago and loved them. They are no longer listed on the Storms Rivers Mouth site. What happened to them, and when did it happen?

Hi George

We have just returned from Stormsrivermouth and I have bad news and good news.

Bad news: The honeymoon cottage have been demolished, level to the ground.

Good news: The honeymoon cottages have been rebuilt. Brand, spanking new in exactly the same location. Construction on two have been completed and the third are almost finished. All three were empty while we were there so I could peek through the window and I can advise you that now is a good time for a second honeymoon!

Hi Tal

Yes they do have an outdoor braai. It is behind the enclosure (for the wind and privacy) in the foreground of the photo.

Enjoy your stay.

Unread postby penolva » Thu Apr 17, 2014 1:57 pm

Hi can anyone tell me which accomodation this is as I can't see it on the list to book it. We want to get one that is on stilts and right on the edge of the sea but am a bit confused  as the list is long and the one that says its ocean view has no photographs and I can't see the Honeymoon one at all Help!! thanks Pen

Hi penolva

When I look at the description it should be either Cottage HC2 or Cottage OC2

I booked HC2 for 3 nights next august even if I'm not on a "honeymoon trip" :D
(but each trip with S.O in Sanparks is in fact an Honeymoon trip) :k
I wonder if H stands for Honeymoon ?
Carpe diem

2016: A short one to Northern Kruger
Punda Maria : May 1st-2nd
Pafuri : May 3rd -6th

Hi I wondered that but there are 4 HC2 so 4 honeymoon cottages seems a bit odd. Only one OC2 and that one says ocean views from every room but no photographs of it. Its a mystery. Perhaps someone else has the answer. Sure we will all have a great time anyway. thanks Pen

I received this very helpful reply from Sanparks this morning, see below. We are going to book OC2. Really looking forward to exploring the area. Pen

Thank you for your enquiry, there are four (4) alone standing HC2 Cottages (8A, 8B, 16A & 16B). The OC2 (Unit 17) is also a free standing cottage all cottages 8A, 8B, 16A, 16B and 17 only accommodate two (2) people.

The FA4 Family Cottages (22-33) are also alone standing and accommodate four people (4). All Cottages are having a sea view and only the HC2, CH3S, OC2, CH2S, CH2SZ and CH4S are equip with a standard double bed.

Kind Regards

Following on, we did stay in the honeymoon cottage number 17 it is the only one with the code as it has sea views from all the rooms. OC2. Really lovely and private with just the rocks and sea below your deck. It had been stormy the day before so the boat trips were cancelled and they are still repairing the bridge, March 2015. We enjoyed a lovely walk to the river mouth and just chilling on the deck with a bottle of wine. Too windy to braai. Going to try the Tree Top Chalet in Knysna next year. Pen
