Accommodation or Camping at the coastal section of Addo?

Unread post by pietert » Sat Mar 02, 2013 3:38 pm

We have been to Addo now twice and visited the Kabouga section and stayed at Mvubu camp. We enjoyed it very much, since we were the only people there having that wonderful section to ourselves and our 4x4 bakkie. We liked it even more than Baviaanspoort, which is not easy!

We would like to visit again, but this time we would like to go to the new coastal section, but we do not have an idea of what accommodation or camping facilities exist there?

Are there maybe wild camping like in Tankwa or even of the standard of Mvubu available. Or then any other kind of accommodation?

Thanks

Pieter

Hi Pieter

Thank you for your query. There are only chalets at the Matyholweni Camp, I'm afraid. However, plans are afoot to include camping and caravaning in future.

Fantastic news! When.....???
BUT please, please make the showers in the ablutions more accessible than those in Addo Main Camp - anyone over a size 14 battles to get in and out!
OR - how about going the Mokala route? The Motswedi campsite is fantastic with each stand having its own private ablution/kitchenette and people will pay an extra charge for that.........

As far as I'm aware, work will get underway during the current financial year - which runs until the end of next March.
