Great images! Friends of mine are visiting SA right now for the first time and Karoo is on the menu. I just hope they didn't make the common mistake of thinking SA = Africa = allways sun = only T-shirst and shorts in the luggage

That makes me think of one winters morning in KNP.
At afsaal a tour group stopped next to us and as they stepped out of the vehicle some complained about the cold. The one guy answered them with the following words "This is Africa and that is why they have a saying that Africa is not for sissies, you need to toughen up boys or go back home". :lol:

I have driven through the Karoo in winter and the cold goes right through you.

Yeh? Me and my missus were sitting in our shirt sleeves on a July night drive when we were asked (In a local accent) 'Aren't you guys cold?'
