Why is this Karoo thread so quiet ?

I am on my way there in May 2014 on route to KNP and need some firing-up !

Please respond with some photies too !

On a previous visit we had a tortoice wanting to pass under the tow-hitch of our caravan in the camping area, lowering itself (as the old Citroen cars could do), and off he/she went !

Morning all
From time to time I will pop up in here to give you updates on what was seen on our activities, perhaps post a pic or 2.
Some of you might know me from Augrabies, like I said I'm not doiing guiding anymore but want to share some of the Karoo splendour.
Last night the guides have seen the following:
2 Aardwolf
2 Porcupines
Kudu's
Zebras(Burchell)
Gemsbok
Red Harebees and a few Hares.

We were fortunate to see a Blackie for the fourth time in Karoo on 14 September.

Does anybody have information of the young brown hyena that got killed by Lions last year, was it one of the original 4 released or one born in the park? Also male or female? Any information would be great!

It is a real pity that Karoo lovers do not post their sightings on this forum.

What would the reason be ?

Stoffel - lovely pics of Black Rhino

4 weeks time, in May, we are back to the Karoo (6th visit) - maybe, just maybe, some "Rhino-luck" will be with us :hmz:

Cheers, Ian
AVIATION IN ITSELF IS NOT INHERENTLY DANGEROUS, BUT TO AN EVEN GREATER DEGREE THAN THE SEA,
IT IS TERRIBLY UNFORGIVING OF ANY CARELESSNESS, INCAPACITY OR NEGLECT.
