Help in posting some Caracal photos

Unread post by bshepardson03 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 12:11 am

I'm new to the forum, but when we were in KTP this March a Caracal came out and posed for us allowing time for almost 200 photos some in golden light. If someone can tell me how to attach photos, I would like to do that. They are hosted on a site called smugmug. Below is the URL to a photo. We also have photos of that lion kill just outside the TR gate. we were there when the lion was dragging the Gemsbok under the tree. Went out on the night drive, the guide was very leery about getting out and opening the gate.

I also have them on my hard drive and tried to just attach them, but couldn't figure this out either.

Any help would be appreciated, as I think this an unusual sighting.

If I'm not supposed to ask help here I apologize, just let me know.

From Smug Mug
1. Open up the photo you wish to share.
2. In upper right, select Get a Link
3. Copy the link by highlighting it, I used the medium size here.
4. Open up your topic and paste the link into the topic.
5. Add
6. I typically do all my copy and pastes into a notepad file since sometimes sanparks times out. Then I copy the text into the body of the topic.

You're caracal pictures are awesome!! Here's the first one for you:

Hi bshepardson03.........and a warm welcome to the forum :gflower:

Wow you had a stunning sighting......

If you are still struggling with the photo hosting ( thank you Chickadee for that great explanation  ), please have a look here...........How to.. Host photos for use with Trip Reports

We saw the Gemsbok kill the next morning, and we wondered when it took place. Can't wait to see your photos.......

Wanderw

This Caracal was on the right side of the road about 10k outside of TR going to Nossob. Probably the Caracal sighting of a lifetime, Although we'll be looking later this month when we return. we'll let you know if we see another. Unfortunately while we will spend some time in Africa, only two nights in KTP. Maybe more in the spring. Will also be visiting Kruger, Sabie Sands and Etosha. Etosha and Sabie being our favorite places to photograph leopards.
