No Jb72, we don't braai "in the trees" at night, we prefer to take charcoal with us. :wink: We have seen them with a fluorescent light, but leave strictly alone.
I agree with what Mfezi, Bush Baptist and jesica wrote.
Be careful, teach your kids to stay away from creepy crawlies, without scaring them, and be sensible. Snakes won't attack unless they are threatened.
And mostly, don't try and show off to your kids/friends about how cool you are to pick up a scorpion or snake for a photo opportunity :cam:
