My wife and I spent six days in Kgalagadi in June. It was our 5th trip to Africa and our first to KTP. We were blown away - so much so that we have already booked 11 nights in KTP for next June. Although I'm not a fully fledged (bad pun!) bird watcher, KTP is definitely bird watching paradise! We saw so many and got hundreds of pics, some good, lots not so good. hopefully you don't mind me sharing some pics and you can help this "fledgling" with identification.

Wow Gary-sp, beautiful raptor sightings!

For bird IDs, kindly post your birds in one of these three topics, and one of our bird experts will soon respond to your ID request! They do not necessarily read travel tales or all the other threads, but they will definitely respond to your requests here:

Identification Help - General Birds

Identification Help - LBJs

Identification Help - Raptors.

You can also spoil us by telling us about all your experiences in the KTP by writing a travel tale here: Travel Tales, and show us all your beautiful pictures! We would LOVE it!

Thanks Manicwalker. Totally agree with birds flying away. Over the years I've taken thousands of pictures of just a bit of wing or fresh air after I was too slow and my subject was too quick. One of my favourite birds is the hoopoe. We saw about half a dozen whilst in KTP. Below is the ONLY shot I got of any of them!
