Love the bathing shot Goronta. Thanks for sharing.

Also in April 2013 around midday, we came across this batelier in the grass alongside the road at Rooiputs waterhole. He too was trying to cool off in a small patch of water. It appears his right eye has an injury too.

Must be a huge handicap for a raptor to have only one eye.

(Never seen a bateleur that close in the Kgalagadi)

The white-faced owl and youngster was close by at one of the picnic sites, shot long time ago (2005)

These future feather dusters were seen on the dune road to TR in Feb 2012.

There were more than 30 "chicks"
