Hi eos5d,
The waterhole is just in front of the cabins.You can just seat on your deck and look at the animals and birds coming.When we were there, there was a lion sleeping the whole afternoon(and roaring the whole night) ,jackals,bokkies and at dawn we missed a brown hyena.
It's true we need a 4x4 to reach the camp but for me Grootkolk and Gharagab are really my preferred camps in the park,even if I do like the others.
I'm not a 4x4 expert driver but I found the road was not difficult as long as you keep the momentum.
I will post some other views from the camp and the cabins.
