Many thanks for your comments.
There were actually 2 cats and they were in a playful mood chasing each other all over the place and even hiding in the entrances to the Ground Squirrel dens before the "chase me Charlie" started all over again.
Unfortunately time was not on our side so rater reluctantly we had to "hightail" it back to camp

Ground squirrels are such a pleasure to watch. Even at the hottest time of the day they are still active, creating lots of photographic opportunities.
