We were in Kgalagdi in early December & the den on the incline going north just south of the Urikaruus turnoff was active. The single pup looked to be ready to set out on its own.

Unfortunately we could also not find any Cape Foxes during our recent trip Red Dune! No fresh tracks around any of those holes. :(

They are still there.............but this is not really puppy season. Pups are now nearly full grown.

Hi Lion Queen,

Lovely sighting, amazing animals those jackals, hope to see them soon!
Is this a recent picture of the two rainwater drinking jackals? Or is the Kalahari "bone" dry?.... :?

Best regards,

Rob

Beautiful pictures of Charlie and the BBJs Lion Queen!

I wouldn't mind to see a grown-up Cape Foxie, maybe it was to hot and they stayed in the dens during the day, and we missed them at night?

eos5d, we have just returned from Kgalagadi on 17 February, and although there were a few drops of rain a few nights, it is not really wet at this stage. But it is beautiful, not bone dry with yellow all over.

Thanx Hilda for the feed-back on the Cape Fox den just south of the Urikaruus turn-off. We'll pass this spot a couple of times in th en next few weeks . . . and we just might have some good luck on our side.

Any other recent Cape Fox sighting woud also be appreciated for us to plan our day drives.
Twee Rivieren : 2 nights for starters !
Nossob : 11 days from 1st March 2016 ( camping at last again !)
Mata Mata : then 5 nights at Mata Mata

. . . with the red sand in my shoes . . I'll always return
