Hi all, whilst going through some of my pics i came across this. I think its a Greater Kestrel, but would like confirmation of this. Thanks for looking.
Sorry if i hijacked your thread but i am just happy that i worked out how to post pics again.

KTP 19/02 - 02/03 Cant wait.

Hi wildc

Lovely photo..but I would say that it is that of a juvenile Gabar Goshawk and not a Greater Kestrel......:)

Hi all,
I took this photo during our trip in Nov 2013 - can anyone help confirm the identification?
Closest I get is a Gabar Goshawk, but are the white eyebrows normal?

From the size I would say it is a pale chanting goshawk, the white eye stripe could mean it is in the final stages of morphing from juvenile to adult.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

Not sure but think it is a Goshawk :hmz:

Look at the previous page 11 off a image of a Gabar Goshawk ...and you can see the difference with the brown stripes..

Thank you for all the nice comments.

I'm not sure whether you'll be able to see all the raptors in the photo, but there were loads of them! Just north of Nossob February 2012.
