I (we, Caracal and Augrabies Guru) saw one couple too, in October, at about the same hour

I am still following your Night Drive sightings with great interest in anticipation of our visit next year. I am going to go and consult my Mammals of Southern Africa book about the Red Rock Rabbit - don't know much about them at all.

Thank you once again for the time you take to keep the sightings up to date.

Untill now we did not experience freezing nights on the drive, just nice cool, but I think from May onwards we will be in for blankets on the drive.

Always a surprise for others too, to see this stocky round bundle of fur with the round red brownish tail here.

Last night sightings:
We found a small herd of eland at the low water bridge and more eland and giraffes in front of the Black Ridges.
In the same area we had red hartebees and springbok as well.

Scrub hares as usual through the drive and a genet.
