I agree LQ - any time you can get a booking!

We have been twice in May and once in June. All were great! Very cold nights in June.

So my questions on this are:

1. am I allowed to do this route even though we are not camping anywhere on that route e.g. Matopi1/2
2. Assuming we are allowed to go on this route, do I need to clear any formalities with the Botswana side when I get into the park at Twee Rivieren.

Likewise we also plan to do the Kanagauss/Kaa route when we are in Grootkolk for 3 nights. Any problems doing this?

Dear katanga,

1. With reference to your first question, I did reply to your question Here  .
As I have stated in my linked post, you are allowed to drive on the Nossob to Bosobogolo road without a booking en route. You just have to declare it on your permit the day you wish to go on such a drive  .

2. With reference to your second question the following:

Any visitor who enters and exits the park through the same country/gate don't have to have a passport and therefore you don't have to clear any formalities with another country when using the road as mentioned by you, as long as you don't exit the Park.

The same will apply with the drive that you plan when you stay at Grootkolk. You are entitled to use this road without any booking at KAA. Declaration on your permit is all you need to do  .

I would also suggest that you provide for additional fuel when you do the Kanagauss/Kaa route and enough water.

Dear Barryels,

so if I present myself at Nossob only with the reservation of Matopi camp I can drive through the Nossob-Bosobogolo Trail?

Is allowed drive the trail Nossob-Bosobogolo with only one vehicle?

I asked several times this information both in South Africa and Botswana, but nobody can give me a definite answer, each version contradicts himself. :wall:

I can not figure out how to get permission to walk the trail.

Thanks in advance for your precious help!

Best regards,

Jennifer

Dear Barryels,

I planned to get from Twee Rivieren, but I can change in case of need.

Meanwhile I received this response from DWNP: "Good day, You access mosomane trail ONLY from Mabua section. Sesatswe - Langrambuka trail it is the one you may access from Nossob. Both trails need 2 vehicles."

Is it true?

I'm afraid I'll have to completely change the program :wall:

I would just go by the South African side to Mabuasehube without leaving the park.

Hi all. Anybody knows wether Nossob's Guest Houses (GH4) and the river front chalets (RF4) at Mata Mata have ovens (or only microwave ovens)?

Hi Obelix,

The Nossob Guest Houses have ovens.

The Mata Mata River Front only hot plate.

@Blue83

Nossob-Bosobogolo (along the Boso Trail): this can be done with 1 vehicle in either direction. No permit is necessary.

The Mosomane trail is only allowed one-way, from Mabua to Nossob direction. You will also need to apply for a special permit and also it is mandatory to be 2 vehicles.

With many travelers entering Kgalagadi via Namibia and Botswana and leaving Kgalagadi via Twee Rivieren and or entering Twee Rivieren and leaving the park via Namibia or Botswana, I thought it would be feasible to post a link to Birth Certificates for Children Needed? here as well.

@cheetah80 Thanks for your valuable help! I only care about the trails of Nossob-Bosobogolo. Then, simply inform the Nossob camp that I will travel the trail when I'm on site?

I don't understand why DWNP answer me by email and by telephone that the trail are required 2 vehicles...

@Blue83 you don't need to inform anyone that you are doing the Nossob - Bosobogolo trail. Just make sure that if you are exiting into Botswana (outside of the park) you have done the immigration at Twee Rivieren. And of course make sure that you have paid the park and camping fees on the Botswana side in advance.

From the answer DWNP gave you I can see that they misunderstood you. There are 2 trails between the SA side and Mabua - one needs 2 vehicles and a permit and the other one doesn't. They replied to you about the Mosomane trail, and left out the information about the Boso trail.
